Hair Removal Systems

Hair removal systems are products that are used in beauty salons and in homes to successfully remove hair temporary or semi permanently. There are many systems in today’s market and new ones are constantly being tested and improved.

Laser Hair Removal

Laser hair removal is used mainly in salons, but is also available at home. The majority work by using a beam of light at a frequency that targets the hair follicle, but does not affect the skin or melanin; this means that the light can destroy the hair follicle without harming the surrounding skin.

The procedure:

To have a Laser Hair Removal procedure, the skin is first washed, and shaved, and then cream is applied to stop infections, usually an aesthetic cream. The area being treated is then exposed to the high power light, achieving the desired effect of the hair follicle being damaged.

The system of using powerful light to remove hair follicles can be quite uncomfortable. The session can last from minutes to over an hour. It depends on the type of hair, and the size of the area being treated. The area treated will be swollen and swore for a few hours – but after this time, most people are able to continue their day as normal.

Electrical Hair Remover

This system of hair removal is often referred to as Electrolysis – and is a proven way of removing hair for a semi permanent to permanent length of time. The procedure is costly, and uncomfortable (even slightly painful to some people), but for a proven way of removing unsightly hair – it is the preferred method of many.

Unlike the system of removing hair using light – electrolysis uses electricity – sent down a tiny wire into the hair follicle itself. Electrolysis offers a way of permanently damaging the hair follicle, giving permanent hair removal. This is often used on problem areas such as on the upper lip, and in some cases, underarms, bikini lines, and eyebrows.
